When do I need a SWMS in Western Australia?+
Before starting any high-risk construction work listed in the WHS (General) Regulations 2022 (WA) — fall risks over 2 metres, trenches deeper than 1.5 metres, demolition of load-bearing structures, work near energised electrical services and more. The SWMS must be in place first, kept available on site, and followed.
What are the penalties for skipping a SWMS in WA?+

What does the principal contractor need from me in WA?+
Same as the other harmonised states — on a construction project the principal contractor must get a copy of your SWMS before the high-risk work starts, and they have to take reasonable steps to make sure it's followed.
